3T Cricket
A new chapter in the cricket world was added on 18 July 2020 when the South Africa Board organized the '3T Cricket Solidarity Cup' to raise funds for Covid-19 pandemic.
In this cup 3 teams are played which is why it is known as 3T cricket. Let us know the rules of 3T cricket in this article.
A similar charity match was played by South Africa Board on 18 July.
Which is called "3T Cricket Solidarity Cup". In this, Solidarity
means participation and determination of all individuals to deal with COVID 19.
The winning team was awarded the gold medal in this cup.
There are 3 teams who participated in this 3T Cup.
1. Kites: Quinton de Kock (Captain)
2. Kingfishers: Heinrich Klassen (Captain)
3. Eagles: AB de Villiers (Captain)
The result of the match has also been announced and the Eagle team of AB
De Villiers won the gold medal by scoring 160/4, followed by the Kites team
scoring 138/3 and Henrik Klassen's team scoring 113/5 with the silver medal,
Won the bronze medal.
3T Cricket Rules: -
1. There will be no toss in the match and which
team will play first, second, and third will be decided based on the draw.
2. In this match, 24 players from a total of 3
teams will participate, which means that there will be only 8 players in one
team.
3. There will be only 36 overs of the entire match
i.e. every team has to play 12 overs in an innings.
4. There will be 2 halves in the entire match and
each team will play 6 overs in the first half, the remaining 6 overs will be
played in the second half i.e. 18 overs will be bowled by 3 teams in each half.
6. The team that scores the most runs in the first half will get a chance to bat first in the second half and the team that scores the least runs will get a chance to bat at number three in the second half.
If 2 teams have scored the first
half, then the team batting in the first half will have to bat at number two in
the second half.
If 7 wickets fall in the second half as well, then the 8th player can
play alone, but he can only score in an 'even number' (2,4,6), like he can only
score 2 runs, and he Can not score 1 run or 3 runs, however, he can also hit a
six.
How
to decide to win the match?
The team that has scored the most runs in both innings will be declared
the winner and will be awarded the gold medal and the second highest scoring
team will get the silver medal and the third team will get the bronze medal.
Possibility 1: - If all three teams score the same score, then all three
will be declared the winner and will be awarded the gold medal.
Possibility 2: - What happens if two teams have scored 150-150 and one
team has 100?
In such a situation a super over will be played between the teams with
equal scores and the team with more runs in the super over will win the match.
Possibility 3: - If one team has scored 120 runs and the other two teams
have scored 100-100 runs, then in such situation, the team scoring 120 runs
will be given gold and the teams with 100 runs will be given silver medal.
